I have been a close follower to this forum for sometime - however only bad things seem to come of it.

In February of this year - largely as a result of many of your posts in this forum - I acquired a new CC 2550. Truly an awesome machine.

However, the more I read I decided what I really needed was full hydraulics and a FEL (which is completely silly since I only have a 1 acre yard).

This disturbing thought process today lead me to purchase a new 5252 w/ 60" MMM and FEL. Hopefully this will be enough tractor for me - I really don't think I could get anything bigger in my garage.

I'll post some pictures once it shows up. Hopefully in the next week or so as its getting shipped from out of state.

Has anyone considered establishing a Tractors Anonymous forum?

...Oh by the way I have a like new 2005 CC 2550 (5 hrs) if anyone is looking for one.

Meetings are every Thursday night. You will need to attend and say "Hi, my name is Mike and I have a tractor spending problem". At that point, the others will say in unison, "Hi Mike, we do too. Welcome to TBN" At that point the bar opens for refreshments. You are allowed to open your wallet to show pictures. Tractors and implements only. No wives, kids or pets.

Mike, you must get help fast. I offer a free service to help people JUST LIKE YOU. What I do is remove the catalyst for your addiction (in this case, your tractors). Then I leave, not telling you where I live.

And that's it. Your problem is solved at that point, at least as far as I'm concerned.....

PS: I'll be over late some night soon to help get you started on your recovery.

Glad you wrote, last year I kept looking at bigger and bigger units. Also came so very close to buying a 5252, but sanity set in ( and my wife intervened) and I finally purchased a new 3200 with front, mid and rear hydraulics (3pt hitch).

I blow snow in the winter, have a 50" mower, rear blade, plow and cultivator.

It has been a perfect tractor in every way. I wish you well with your purchase!!!!!!

my name is Jeff and i bought a cub 3200 to mow 2 acres.

i am a perennial victim of price creep. be it guns, electronics or garden tractors. i started out last july looking for a new "riding mower" because i was tired of repairing the disposable $200-$400 riders i had been using. i quickly decided i wanted shaft drive, then decided i needed a large heavy one to get up and down the steep hill on the front of my property. this lead to the conclusion that i needed a diff lock. there you have it, the 3200 was my least expensive option at that point. perfectly logical. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

(as if my previous post werent long enough)

additionally, i am watching for the right deal on a decent sized piece of property(15-50 acres) just to justify buying a "real" tractor. we have wanted some land for a while, and the wife thinks i share her motives for wanting it, room for the kids/dogs to play without worrying about traffic etc. but the biggest reason i want it is because then i would have a legitimate reason to own a nice 4x4 tractor with an FEL etc...

i am pitiful.
