A Soldier\'s Prayer

From a war of a generation ago....now to another which is imminent, here's a simple Soldier's Prayer for our brave men and women serving in the U.S. and Allied armed forces who again are in harm's way. May God grant them a sufficient measure of His peace, protection, guidance, and mercy that will see them safely home.

Thanks Bob,

I remember seeing that before, but I forgot how moving it was. It sure reinforces that old saying ... There's no such thing as an aetheist in a fox hole.

Re: A Soldier\'s Prayer

Yep....I recalled this prayer when several days ago I saw on the news programs some of our servicemen attending church services in their makeshift tents in the Kuwait desert. The newsmen interviewed some of them and one can tell how these guys and gals were stripped somewhat of their personal pride realizing they were facing their own mortality and just thinking what if.....

My thoughts and prayers also go out to all TBNers who have sons, daughters, and loved ones serving overseas in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. May God also give you strength and comfort during these dangerous times we're living in.

AMEN! The media interviewed one GI, asked what he was carrying into battle, he showed a pocket testiment he had been given, said he'd never read the Bible before, but figured now was a good time to start... Freedom isn't Free! My prayers go out to all who have loved ones in uniform.

Re: A Soldier\'s Prayer

It is really interesting to see how some Americans have come together for prayer for the soldiers and their families. I don't like war but realise that there is times when it has to be. This is one of them times. What is very saddening to me is people like the Dixie Chicks and all the Hollywood people on how they say they are disgraced to be an american. The Dixie Chicks are embarrassed they are from the same state as President Bush. You have the right to say war is wrong, but to protest to the point of where things are destroyed and the military has to be brought in is to me a war in itself. When you see the Iraqi people so happy to see the American soldiers in relief of the power they have been under for so many years you have to believe this war is just.

I thank God for our soldiers and their families. As for me I won't be watching the emmy awards this year. Charlie Daniels wrote a good letter to Hollywood and I agree with him 100%

Murph, it's not only the hollywood crowd, or the Dixie Chicks. What about what Tom Dashle said the other day - something to the effect that President Bush has failed miserably on diplomacy and that is why we are at war. Where is the outcry over him saying something this stupid. Even if it was true, which in no way do I believe it is, he should never say something like that when we are at war. To me, he just reaffirmed what a looser he is.

Agree....it's ironic to see Iraqi civilians hugging, kissing, thanking, and kneeling before American GIs when they were entering the southern Iraqi cities a day or so ago and shouting praises to President Bush. Five minutes later I'm seeing on the same news broadcasts protesting American citizens denouncing President Bush and this war effort. Whether one believes this war is a just war or not, I just can't figure this one out. One doesn't have to be a Republican or believe in President Bush's foreign policies, but dog gone it it just doesn't seem patriotic to denounce our leaders who have stated right from the beginning that their intent has always been to protect America from terrorist attacks. Have all these protesters forgotten 9/11 and who caused that to happen? I'll just never understand these protesters and why they do what they do. What would it take for them to support military action to defend national security interests? I guess they're waiting for America to be attacked again, maybe in a much worse way than what happened on 9/11. Then, it's likely some of these protesters will still denounce our leaders for not doing enough to protect the American homeland. Maybe, they just like to protest for the sake of protesting. But, to what end..... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
