Being the victim of moles and replacing my liner three times in the past decade, I can honestly say that I have twice pumped out my pool with the waste feature with nothing more than flattened grass in about a 10' circle. I can pump the pool darn near dry in about 3-4 hours(12,500 gallons). Pump it into a level wash tub and that will difuse the water as it gently pours over the edge VS blasting out the hose. Or, run it into the end of a long run of 4" perforated corrugated drain pipe. That will difuse it over a large area.

Above the ground pools and boats are similar, in that the happiest days are the day you buy it and the day you get rid of it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You will begin to hear a "sucking" sound, the pool will be empty after it subsides.
