Thank you Builder, I would love to find one of those wagons. They can carry a lot of brush and no problem with jockey wheels or what have you while filling them with the FEL. and they are easier to back up with. I haven't been able to find one over here in France so far.

Thank you Tessiers for hinting at a chipper.
There would be advantages :
save all the traveling as you say, avoid the need for potentially dangerous fires
but also drawbacks :
one more implement to store and maintain with only one use, and what to do with the vast volume of chips? I think they would have to be raked, blown or spread in some way. The longer pieces (about 4 metres) would probably need cutting before being fed into the thing, then I am not sure a chipper on my small tractor (30 HP PTO) could handle the thicker branches (5 to 6 centimetre diameter). Of course, the bigger limbs and stumps would still have to be carried away and burnt.
Do you have experience with this type of implement ?

Have you checked around some of your big farm tractor dealers or used farm equipent auctions?

I like the FEL very much on my JD 3520, but it has its limits. After hundreds of runs to carry cut branches to the burning place, I'm dreaming of a tipping trailer. I have no experience with tractor trailers and the best way to connect them to the tractor. I would be thankful for your experience and advice.

I have worked out a slightly easier solution for my purposes. I use a grapple to load a plain vanilla 5x8 trailer, tow it to the brush pile then use the grapple to unload it. It takes a little longer than dumping for sure but I have the advantage of being able to stack the brush right where I want it after unloading rather than generating a new pile. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a dumping trailer too but the cost about $3500 around here so I am doing without.

chipping would be a lot more manual work than dragging and burning. Burn baby burn lol zman
