Abandoned concrete grain silos

I always wondered what kind of reaction you would get from the law if you called them about that kind of stuff on your own property. Guess it depends on the officer.

I've wondered that as well. Me being the long haired freaky looking type I was hesitant to call the law when I found wild pot plants growing on our farm along the creek many years ago. It was near fall and we had frosts that killed them about a week after I noticed them. They didn't come back the next year, so no problem. Now, years later, I am older, fatter, balder and less freaky looking, so I wouldn't hesitate to call at this point in my life.

Hemp (pot) grows everywhere in Iowa. We call it ditch weed. If you remove ground cover at any place it is certain that at spring there will be hemp growing. When I bought my place there was a feed lot. It was about 10 ac of mud. When the contract expired I asked the renter to remove his cows from the property. Next year there was a forest of hemp. I had no clue what it was at first. When my wife told me I wanted to get rid of it ASAP. While attempting to mow it the plants were so big that it stopped our grasshopper so I gave up on it. I tried to burn it at fall. My neighbors were kidding me that I tried to get them all high. It took about 3 years before competing plants took over and the pot was gone. How can you tell the difference between hemp and pot short of trying it?
