? About landscape rakes

I have an ETA Landscape Rake with gauge wheels.

I have a Ratchet Rake bucket attachment.

For the two uses you have specified a Ratchet Rake will perform better for you.

You cannot see the Ratchet Rake in Photo #2 but it is on the bucket.
Pushing brush is better than pulling brush. You have infinite collection space in front and line-of-sight is better.

That would be great except that my tractor does not have a bucket.

Excuse my ignorance but I did not see anything in the ad from EA about paying extra to get it to offset. This is the rake that I was thinking about getting but confused about the offset comment. Also,can you tell me why the offset feature is desirable? As you can see I have a lot to lear about using a rake.

If you're buying this model then it IS the model with the offset. They have several different models.

When I bought mine, the dealer said to get one about 2' wider than the track (the width of the tractor wheels on the same axle) or slightly more. The idea was that when pulling the rake at it's maximum angle (the left/right tilt) you still want the rake wider than the tractor's track, with some margin for maneuvering and turning.

That being said, I went with a slightly smaller one (still longer than the track with the smallest angle set) since I was also pulling branches and deadfall out between trees. It does mean a couple more passes when I'm smoothing out some land I was working on, but that's OK.
