About the ATI Tach-All Skid Steer Quick Attach

If you down load the full brochure for ATIs product line there is a listing of all the available Tach-Alls.
In one area the list shows a SSL type that weighs 76 lbs. Further down they list a Pin type that weighs 36 lbs.
The SSL type looks good if you can find a dealer that will order it when you buy your tractor. Otherwise an adapter plate will need to be added to Kubota bucket to make Tach-all work.
The one thing that I have noticed about SSL attachments are they are heavy. Especially one at rental places. They don't want them broken.
I don't know what you have heard about the pin type QD. But i have had no problems with mine. In the manual that came with mine there is reference to 72" heavy duty buckets that were used on L series loaders. This might create a problem with the frame on a loader that could lift more than the 400 series FELs.

I have several 66" buckets that mate right up to the LA402 pins that are from older basic L tractors. I can't see a 72" being real effective on that loader.

Rolando, if you don't have to use the root grapple too often, have you thought about keeping the bucket on the front, and rather than a pallet fork, putting a heavy duty carry all on the 3ph?

The reference I was trying to make is that the L1617 Quick Hitch will fit on some "L" series tractors.

Since this is a quick attach thread I thought somebody might have an opinion on this. I have seen two types of FEL quick attaches out there - the style that Kubota and the skid steer's use where there is a big pin with a handle to lock the lower part of the quick attach in - and the style that John Deere uses where there is a round pin with a Clevis at the bottom. Anybody have an opinion on which is better - meaning stronger, easier to use, etc.? The reason why I ask is because I would like to come up with a quick attach for my FEL that will be able to stand up to digging with a toothbar on the bucket, backdragging, etc. It seems like the Deere style is only used by them but is somewhat simpler with less moving parts, the Kubota/SSL style seems like it might lock the bottom in better though.

Thanks, Tom, I'm going to have to think about that. Does anybody know what the lift capacity of the 3ph in the B3030 will be? It seems that it would be about the same as the B2910, but I haven't been able to find where that information is listed.

Something to think about is how high I would need to lift the material on the pallet forks. Although the lift height on these loaders isn't great, it would be a lot more that the 3ph. In terms of just moving things around, though, it would be a lot simpler, and it would mean that I would need to change things out less often so that maybe the pin coupler would work well enough.

There doesn't seem to be much input in terms of experience with the ATI or any other SSL coupler for the B2910. Perhaps I'm off-base on my concern about the Kubota pin-type quick coupler.

What kind of experience have people had with the pin coupler? Do folks just not have much of a need to change out implements on the FELs for this size tractor?

Since the pins on the Kubota Quick Attach for the Grand L series are beveled it is possible to cam the pins out of the sockets. I have not done it back dragging with the bucket but I have done it with the tree shear when catching the bottom edge of the frame on a stump while in reverse. I haven't done it yet but I plan to add a stack of washers under the springs to give more down force. It means that it will be harder to toggle the pins to the lock position.

Just something to think about.

I know these numbers come right from the Kubota website however there must be a typo.

There's no way the 3 point could lift more-weight 24" behind the lift point than at the lift point.

The amounts for the B2910 are 1655 pounds at the lift point and 1300 pounds 24" behind the lift point.
