About to pull the trigger on an XJ2025H and would like some feedback from LS users

I have "only" 5 acres. I moved up to a R3039H with a 6' cutter. No regrets on size. I've been able to handle an amazing amount or chores. With the acreage you are facing, you need to go much bigger than an XJ size in my opinion. I'm thinking about a 6' 3 point hitch finish mower to mow my approximately 2 acre lawn.

I bought a 90" RFM to cut about that much lawn with my tractors only to find it was slower than a 48" zero turn.

Haha I detect that sarcasm in there zz. You and I would get along great. I am a retired firefighter and my kids have now moved out for college and other life stuff. Some people have a bucket list... I have a bucket item - to live on a farm and have some animals. It will be my job and I will make it happen! I am still leaning towards a tractor in the 30-45 hp range but at this point I am trying to decide new or used. I have another 6 weeks until I move in so I am glad I began doing my homework early. I am going to look at that Kubota L4610 you located near me. He says its a 95 model with less than 400 hours. The cab concept seems appealing for many reasons... weather, sun protection, insects, dust, noise. I think I will know when I drive it. That thing is loaded... tilt wheel, locking diff, HST, remote valves, etc. Kubota dealer about 25 min from my property so that isn't too bad. Tires are in great shape.....I know those things are outrageous. Will keep you up to speed if you want! Thanks zz

Thanks Jaycee, I will def be going bigger than the XJ after reading all these posts and shopping more. I have a 52" Toro Z-turn I will be using for the yard around my home (about 1.5 acres) but not gonna be cutting pastures with that back killing machine.

This reminds me of my recent thread. I thought I wanted a 26hp B series Kubota with MMM for our new property, and for less than 10k more I ended up with a 40hp LS with a cab, a flail, a full 6' FEL, telescoping arms, and 2 rear remotes. Good luck on your decision.

Gman....wanted to give you an update on my tractor purchase decision and thank you for you advice and comments. I had my mind set on a Kioti CK2610HST but after reconsidering the price difference in that machine and the Kioti CK3510HST, I purchased the larger machine. Much more tractor for the money and more versatility with the added HP at the PTO. 10% more cost for 50% more machine.......FL capabilities, PTO power, and obvious HP difference, not to mention tier 4 engine is quieter. I also purchased the 72" Phoenix finish mower for a larger cut. Won't pick up the tractor for a couple weeks when I move onto the property but am very confident in my decision. The advice and experience you and others shared with me on this forum is priceless. Thank you!

ahueter,

I'm very confident you will be happy you went bigger.

I was in you same position 3 years ago when I started looking at SCUTS. Moved up to the LS R3039H for not a lot more money and have never looked back.

Enjoy your Kioti.
