Buying Advice About to pull trigger on GC2400

Actually, on the GC, it's not bad at all... there's little in the way in accessing the freeze plug --that's if, as I suspect, the 2400s are like my 2300. I know some of the larger tractors have something directly in front of the freeze plug that needs to be removed, but not so on the SCUTS, apparently. Mine went in very easily.

I find it really handy that the power cord can be removed, so I don't have to worry about snagging it in the summer... and a standard garden hose cap can be used to cover it when the power cord's off.

Wow, that is easier. The fuel filter assembly is in the way, as well as wiring harness too.

Had a look and it's easily accessed on the GC2400. Just have to get over my nerves about popping out the frost plug on my new toy.

Piece a cake!

Just follow standard procedure for removing a freeze plug (after draining coolant, of course)-- don't use a drill, or you may get metal shavings inside the water jacket. I used, IIRC, a drift punch on the edge of one side, to get it to rotate sideways, then a pair of Channel Locks to wiggle it free and pull it out. It'll be a lot easier if you remove the front grille piece-- at least that's the way it was on mine. WBB
