about to purchase the 1046

Just wanted to know how you guys like the 1046. How do you like the Kohler engine? I just returned the JD L111 this week and will purchase the CC 1046 in a few days.

I have a new LT1050, not much difference between it and the 1046. The 1050 has a slightly larger engine and bigger deck but that's it.

I only have a few hours on it, but I am very impressed with it after mowing a half dozen times. Even though it has a large deck, it is very easy to maneuver around trees in the yard as it has a nice tight turning radius. The Kohler is much smoother than the Briggs I had on a previous mower, more powerful, and overall it is a very comfortable machine.

I looked at several brands before deciding on the CC, and I am not disappointed at all. I'm sure you will be equally impressed with your new 1046. Good choice - congratulations!

I have had my 1046 for about three weeks and think its a great machine. The sole purpose is to mow, aerate, and dethatche the lawn. We have about a half acre to mow and changing from an eight horse 32 inch machine to the 1046 was quite a change. The Kohler starts and runs well, plus it does a great job of mowing. The machine comes with mulching blades installed and you only have to install the mulching plug that also comes with the mower. I also removed the large deflector since the mulching plug retains all the grass clippings, etc. This helps make the machine a bit more narrow.
