Above Ground Water Storage Tank (2,000 GAL)

I was once thinking about adding some underground water storage tanks at my place, with small 120v pump to access water in Emergency. But since then our water association has added 2 industrial generators and lots of underground propane tanks. Plus there in the process of adding an additional New 200,000 gal underground storage tank. So I guess the idea of me adding one faded away.

A modern fire truck pumps water at the rate of 1500 gallons per minute. So u will get about 1 minute 20 seconds of fire fighting from a 2000 gallon tank. Just something to consider.

Do you enjoy swimming pools? An above ground 21 foot round pool is about 10,000 gallons and it would serve a dual purpose and extend ur fire fighting time to about 6 minutes.

1500 GPM would be the pump capacity. A hand line from that pumper would flow around 175 GPM. You wouldn’t physically be able to handle a line flowing 1500 GPM.

I thought Australia was overrun with mice.....

The mouse 'plague' is serious, but regional... Australia is not only a country, it's a whole continent. It being Winter, the plague has dissipated but is geographically expanding because the little buggers have wiped out/ruined/fouled their food supply.
The last that I heard, they were spreading South (New South Wales) but the more South you go, the colder the climate is. I haven't heard any 'updates' lately... then again, Tasmania has a huge 'moat' and my cat, Penelope, has kept the local mousies in check.

Have you checked the freight cost?

Another option is a bladder tank that just sits on the ground. No footings needed.
