abrogator? Post driver!#%@&

re: abrogator? Post driver!#%@&

What are they supposed to do with it? I壇 rather have a little extra material vs paying a crew to sit around while more is delivered. Would you rather pay them to to haul it back for a return in the event that痴 even offered? Most people don稚 want the extra material laying around.

I get it, and I am not saying that money should be wasted in that regard. I am talking about the contractors who intentionally over order items. I worked construction to pay my way through college. I saw painting contractors over order paint by the skid knowing full well that the extra was going to the next job. I have seen masons have the homeowner pay the brick truck driver for the material, and everyday they left the job site another load of bricks were put into the back of the pickup. I have seen general contractors write up job changes and put the items in their trailer to go down the road. Robbing peter to pay paul. This is what I am getting at. IT is really bad in NJ and NY, no where near that extreme in my area with the exception of the pole building crews. Those crews are more like gypsies.

Funny, me thinks BOB is a TBN troller, and decided to find something else in his inventory stash to make it right. I mean, really, who gives a flip how a guy/neighbor got up his leaves???

Several contractors have told me they bid jobs based on the wealth of the client. Nice house, nice cars, nice price.
Had a guy in the funeral business say same thing for funeral prices.

I love the alternate theories.

"There was no post driver"!
"Bob is a troller, monitoring TBN..." running psych ops on the OP and all of us.

Or maybe....There is no BOB! THE OP IS BOB!

Where's Scooby Doo and the gang to pull off the mask and get to the bottom of this when you need them?!

(p.s. The Walrus was Paul! )

Communication is important enough.

Farm Lady next door calls. "My 5420 is leaking again." Me, "Can you see where it's coming from?" She, "it's on top." (of what??? big tractor, there) Me, "top of roll bar? top of fender?" She, "I can see where it puddles underneath." big help  I arrive and darn little under the hood isn't soaked in oil and caked with mushy, oily mud. Leak was 'on top' of 'steering supply hose' (RE73466) which is in its own way of being removed, along with wires and 'hard' lines hampering access. ( btw, Got 'er done but 'was no fun')

A wife says, "you guys have to fix my van!" Hubby, "what's wrong with it, dear?" She, "It feels like the wheel is going to fall off!" He, "Steering wheel?" She "Front wheel. It feels like it's going to fall off." Me, "does the steering wheel shake or wobble when your driving, or feel different when braking?" He, "do you hear any noise or feel any shaking?" She, "it feels like the wheel is going to fall off." Me, "I've never had that happen. What's it feel like?" He, " do you hear or feel anything you can describe?" She, "It feels like the wheel is going to fall of."

Turns out that a whomped strut will give the same feeling as just before a wheel falls off. Hasn't happened to me yet, but I've heard from an expert. ;)

Everyone practices talking, and IMO too many of us assume we're heard in context of what we're thinking, or care to be listening. Stuff happens when we think we're always heard and understood. Good luck with that idea.

re: abrogator? Post driver!#%@&

As far as material goes, this company is the same one who built my garage, a couple other small buildings, re-roofed an old barn, etc. over the last 35 years for me.
They do good work at a good price. Anything they do I get a contract outlining price, how it's constructed, and price.
Left over material doesn't matter to me, it's theirs. If it's in trash pile I save anything I can use.
Bob is down the line within the company, a foreman I guess you'd say.
I can't thank everyone enough for all the input and some great laughs!
At the start I had to vent, felt screwed, etc.

It is always nice to "hear the rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would say. Happy things worked out and that maybe "Bob" wasn't the douche he first appeared.

I looked, about $1500?
I should be ok using my auger. This $300 one I saw pictures, great condition. I could have used it then sold it for I bet $2K.
I'm thinking what was mentioned here was correct, Bob listed it ...goofed on price...goofed even telling me about it...then felt in a bind someone calling saying they were on the way to get it, 3 hours away and almost here.
If I could go back in time...said let's go RIGHT NOW! I wonder how it would have played out.
It is freaky how much stuff is at this place.

Maybe, but dang funny though.

If serious,,,, not the least bit funny. Way worse than what Bob is "perceived" as having done.
