AC D15 loses power and dies for no reason, help!

I was planting oats yesterday and the engine began to race but it lost power and quit. I waited a minute or two and it returned to idle and went but soon the same thing happened. I thought maybe it was overheating so I added anitfreeze, topped off the oil, but the same thing happened .. It happened more often on the up slope but also on down hill. I recently had the engine overhauled. The head milled. In fact the problems seemed to start soon after. I am completely at a loss.

I'd check the fuel bulb and make sure there was no water or trash in the gas tank.

If it's a grass tractor, there something wrong with the fuel delivery. trash in the tank outlet strainer, clogged fuel filter or sediment bowl. etc

That's it sediment bowl. That's what I meant when I said fuel bulb.

I meant Gas Tractor.....

If it is a diesel, I would suspect the injector pump is about to go out. I sure hope it doesn't do like a AC D17 we had once when the pump went bad it started racing WOT 2-3 times normal RPM. Luckly my Dad was driving it and was able to shut off the fuel valve at the tank. He said he believed if it had not been overhauled with new rod bearings and rings, it would have thrown a rod and ruined the engine.
