Accessory plug on Kubota?

The brass "contacts" inside that plug are actually standard female blade connectors. So if you crimp male blade connectors to your new wiring, they can individually snap into the existing plug one by one, then tape over everything to keep it together. Use a volt meter to determine which is +ve and -ve before hooking up.

Also, you can pop the brass blade connectors out of the plug if you want -- use a small flat blade screwdriver from the back side to carefully release the small tabs -- and then you will have the female blade connectors separated and ready to connect to. Tape over the individual connections. You can always reverse this process and snap the female connectors back into the plug if desired later on.

Unless I know I need to use/keep custom plugs, I either plug standard blade connectors individually, or pop the connections out of the plug. In this case, there's really no need to get an exact match to the plug. It's not a NASA rocket or anything...

I could just cut it off and solder the wires on. Use a tap. Jam the wires straight into the connector.

Or spend $2.50 to do it right and last forever.

I don't think there's a longevity difference for any of the friction-connector methods (cutting/soldering would be better than any of them). It's still just brass blade connectors, either loose or in a non-watertight plug. Now if we were talking about a watertight connector, that would be a different story.

I'm going to wrap it with rubber tape so it's protected. I may want to go to two lights or a longer bar.

Thats assuming the connector I bought fits....

I had the same problem when I tried to find the mating plug to the factory connector- wound up using the individual connectors with heat shrink tubing. Soldering is golden. When I worked with a boat builder, all wire was fully pre-tinned, and nothing that could rust was to be found. Nobody likes to mess with corroded failing connectors in the middle of the night in a snow storm.

Here's where the plug was taped on my tractor.

Partial update: got the plug in and it fits! So now I'll start wiring it up and finish the bracket.

Trying to find the accessory wires (From what I read they should be there) on my bx2350. Does anyone know if there is a plug or just capped wires? Suppose to have blue tape but there are a few that have blue tapeWeb44.jpg Thinking it might be on the left. Do not want to screw up anything.

Thanks, Norm

Run a new fused circuit controlled by the ignition and a switch on the dash for the lights.
LEDs are low current draw so a relay is not needed but can be used, wire gauge can be small.
Build the circuit for the purpose and there is no hunting for phantom wiring.

You could run a larger gauge fused power wire from the battery to the dash and use it for the lights you now have and for future lighting.

With a new circuit you keep things separated, no overloading, simple straight forward.
