Accidently Left Key on - added 100 hours to hour meter

Only problem with that is you lose the interval information that would be used for maintenance. For instance, on my tractor, there is a 50 hour maintenance interval among others. I'd just notate it in the log and continue to use the meter.

Im wondering why it matters? I HIGHLY doubt any hour meter, be it on a lawn tractor, big tractor, genset or boat, is accurate as you can simply disconnect or replace them. You, yourself, said you wired this one in, so its not accurate anyways, right? Disconnect that thing until you believe another 100hrs has past and reconnect. No biggie.

Or, simply get another one...

I on the other hand do not like the old style mechanical meters. My Kubota L4400 had that type. 95% of my work with that tractor was at or just above an idle. When I sold it to a friend, the meter showed 250 hours. The actual use time was much closer to 600 hours. I could work that tractor all day and it would register 2 or 3 hours. I told the buyer and assured him it was closer to 600.

I'm not sure how my M9540 is set up. I'm sure it's electrical, but not sure if it would trip hours with just the key on.
