I am going with an old Speedcast style, the old Fisher conventionals. The good thing about those is no pump/light/headunit like the newer MinuteMounts, just a blade with pistons and A frame. Plus e blades themselves are becoming a dime a dozen up here as no one runs the old ones much anymore. 70 bucks got me a 7.5' blade that needed a tiny bit of welding.
I have been planning it in my head all year and was convinced to mount the blade as far back as possibe but changed my mind recently. My tractor will not be the primary plow, I have two trucks for that. What the tractor will do is push piles further than the truck and knock down the walls build up by the truck. For that reason, I will be going with a SSQA plate and welding a Speedcast pushbar to it. I actually want the plow out far to push snow dwnhills or off driveways. Something to think about when designing.
Wow,$70 for a 7.5. Down here I just went and saw a plow for$200 and it was rusted through in 3 places. I did just finaly get one. $400 for a 6' old jeep plow and a frame that looks likee **** but is sound. Needs 2 cly QA ect. I'm thinking $800 to bring it new. Thats CT for you
