I just re-read the parts description and the port plate(parts key #1) in my photo is described this way(U41161 PORT PLATE L.H. CLOSED CENTER) which leads me to believe this stack-able set of valves can be converted to open center
adapting closed center john deere backhoe to open center AC dozer?

You will have to search through the parts book. Here is a brief blurb of text. Backhoe maybe a 9250 on th 401A ?
While it isn't correct. There have been countless closed center hydrualic valves connected into open center sydraulic systems and used. While relief valves hissed and the oil heated up. Has been a few busted componets too if there wasn't a pressure relief between the pump and closed center valves.

You could use an unloader valve just before the backhoe inlet. I suppose you would need a small accumulator to prevent it from constant cycling. It should work if you can't modify your existing valve to make it work.
