Kubota L2250
I just bought a Kubota L2250 and would like to use it for plowing the drive. It has a FEL on already. I also have a fully functional 7.5 foot lexan plow for my truck that I'm thinking of retrofitting to the tractor. I have several questions.
1. Is the L2250 capable of handling a 6 or 7.5 foot plow?
2. Is it best to retrofit to the FEL using a quick attach or should the FEL be removed and a bracket of some sort made for the plow to pin to(like on the truck)
3. The hydraulics all function on the plow- should I use the plow hydraulics(driven by 12v power) or the tractor hydraulics?
4. I see some guys using the angle cylinders... how are they getting the hydraulics for this? Off the loader valve or an additional valve?

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Another thought after surfing alot of the threads here... the plow has an electric hydraulic pump which I'm guessing the charging system of the tractor will not be able to power for long. If I remove the electric pump from the plow, I should be able to use the tractor pump to feed the valve body on the plow. Then, I should be able to use the plow controller to manipulate the plow cylinders. I'm leaning toward fabricating a plow bracket. That way I don't risk bending the arms on my FEL. If this works, I'll detach the FEL, pin in my plow, hook up the hydraulic lines and an electrical connector and away I go. As long as the front axle on the tractor can handle the weight. The lexan plow is around 450 pounds I believe... an old Snoway brand.

25hp? Maybe a little light to handle pushing a 7.5'blade in deep snow, but that is when you chip away at it! I have a 7' steel plow I mounted straight on to the bucket on my NH TC30. I like it, but I stopped using it and just use the 5' bucket now.

The hassle was that I liked to use the bucket for cleaning stalls and couldn't do it with a plow mounted.
I like the idea of a quick attach plow mount- easier than taking the loader off, and you can push the banks higher at the end of a run. I think you would get more push power the closer your plow was to your tractor, and it would hold the line better. Simple is sometimes the best way to go- and change as you want to.
Chains on the rear and loaded rear tires help a whole lot when the ground gets icy.

If your going to remove the loader to use the plow, just use the loader valve to control the plow.

Welcome to TBN.........................
If you remove the loader and build, attach a plow frame you should be fine. At 450 lb. its probably equal or less weight than the loader. Since you're removing the loader you can run the plow hydraulics off the ports where the loader was plugged in. You'll need to buy or have hoses made. The 7.5' blade may be a little big for your tractor and tend to push the tractor with the blade angled.
On my tractor I have a QA bucket which I remove. I adapted my truck plow to a QA plate to mount it. I use the loader arms to lift the plow and operate the angle from rear remote through hoses I ran under the frame to the front.

I may be mistaken, but it appears my hydraulic control valve stays with the loader when removed. Its a BF300G Kubota. I can always narrow up the plow if necessary... I'll be doing plenty of welding already, what's a few more welds.

If the control valve stays with the loader, would it pay to put quick connects at the valve and mount it on a new bracket to stay with the tractor?

Not familiar with a BF300G. I've never seen a loader valve that stays with the loader when disconnected. I do think you could make a bracket for the valve and switch the disconnects to the loader side of the valve so the valve would stay with the tractor. Then you could use the valve to operate other devices on the front.

I looked again. It's actually a BF400G... but the valve is mounted to the quick detach frame of the loader. It would be nice to have that stay with the tractor for other implements.

Thats most likely the "cross-over " valve.
