Add float to a loader that doesn't have it?

Is it possible to add float function to a front end loader that doesn't have it as standard? Is it just a case of changing the spool valve for the loader lift circuit, or is there something else required?

You would need a new valve.

Unless it's more than 30 something years old it's probably a loader valve.
1 stick to run lift and curl.
But replacing the valve for lift is the solution.

You need to know flow required, open vs closed center, and fittings.

What kind of tractor and loader do you have ? Your signature indicates your tractor is UHI ? I have never heard of that brand tractor before.

Float can be added via externally mounted electrical valves but depending on tractor and loader might be less expensive and easier to replace the loader valve.
