Is there a place on a CK 30 to add another set of hydraulics? I feel that it would be more cost effective(possibly) to tap in another pressure and return line with a separate control valve for a grapple. It seems that all of the other dicussions are based on diverters. Why do most people use them?

I think people use the diverter setups because they are relatively cheap, easy to install, and a well known company makes them model specific to our tractors. A guy like me who can put stuff together but doesn't really want to get in over my head finds comfort in knowing he can buy a "kit" and be done with it.

Hey Highbeam...

Do you know what company makes the diverter kits for Kioti (CK25/30 specific)? I'm looking at putting a grapple on mmy CK25 bucket and I'd like to find the diverters and everything else I'll need to get it running.

Thanks

Cool!! I think I'll order mine this evening.

On another note... Where do most folks mount the switches...or...is there something out there even better? My hydraulic control arm won't allow me to put the switch directly in the handle. Any good suggestions??

Thanks

I'm thinking of using a small 'handlebar kill switch' for motorcycles.

Something like so.....

I may be the only one using rear remotes to control a grapple but I must say that I am perfectly happy with that arrangement. If you have rear remotes or have some other excuse to get a set it makes a lot of sense to try them as a means of grapple control before investing in a diverter valve or solonoid. The cost of installing a set of rear remotes is less than the cost of adding a diverter and you get multiple functions out of it. It also requires zero skill to connect a grapple via rear remotes. Just measure for the right amount of hydraulic line and get the appropriate fittings attached. Then you just need a fist full of zip ties to secure the lines as you route them to the FEL.

I think some people are unhappy with the idea of taking your hand off the FEL controller to reach back for the rear remote control lever (usually on the right fender). I gotta say that after about a day or so of use it is no more difficult than shifting 4 on the floor. I used to look but it is totally automatic now. I cannot imagine there is even a half second lost in moving my hand. You can control the grapple just as finely as with a diverter too. I chickened out proving that yesterday when I was taking a movie of my grapple use and tried to shut the camera off by touching the shutter button with the grapple tooth....I gave up because I couldn't judge the distance closely enough, not because I couldn't control the grapple finely.

I am most familiar with the WR Long kit made specifically for our machine. There is nothing wrong with mounting the diverter switch to the loader control stick or just buying a replacement ball for the stick with a button in it. You will just have to route and restrain the wiring to keep it safe. It should be an easy install but those things cost money.

Like Highbeam says, WR Long makes a great valve. Below are the numbers I used. I ordered them through a local Kubota dealer who ordered them from Long for me.
The valve is the soleniod diverter valve, giving me a true third function grapple.
The valve part number VALDO3S2C12D-35
The Subplate part number VALSUBPLATED03
(This valve needs the subplate to go with it.)

The Handle is number G3-0100HANDASY4
The handle replaces your joystick handle and has the switch in it.

Or you can go to their website for the set up you want and contact them.

Thanks for all the feedback. On another note (Kioti) specfic...

Can these diverter valves handle the hydraulic pressure that controls the curl function of the loader? I was thinking of putting the diverter directly in line with the hydraulic hoses that control the curl funtion of the bucket.

Usually these diverters are used on the FEL control and I wasn't sure if there was a pressure difference in the FEL control hoses versus the hoses that actually control the hydraulics.

Thanks..
