I have a 2860e with a FEL. I would like to add rear remotes which it does not have. Any suggestions about the process and thoughts on the cost? Thank you!

Adding remotes when there are none can be interesting. Good luck! I am sure someone will chime in soon.

A number of theories on that subject, and you're sure to hear a few. Suggestions will follow, but the decision is yours. It will depend on what's available for that model OEM wise, your skills and abilities, what you expect the finished product to look like, (aesthetics vs function) and of course, budget. Factory remote packages can run $500 to $800 on up to $2500 to $2800. Not familiar with a 2860e so I have no price quotes to share. I can state that if I were doing it, it would not be OEM parts, and would probably come in around $500 to $700 for a single double acting valve with a pair of breakaway couplers. I would not go with any solenoid valves, but again, your choice.

I hope you didn't buy it new, try to save money and now decide you want them. That is an expensive mistake. Looking at others it seems 1 remote is about standard so where they are plumbed in on the tractor is your starting point. Your going to need the parts diagram as the starting point. From there build to suit.

I'm actually starting the process of removing JD OEM single spool and installing aftermarket double spool using Summit for some of the needed parts.

I helped a friend add 2 rear remotes on a JD 3038e. He started down the Summit road and soon gave up trying to understand how and where to connect the hydraulics. When contacting a friend of a friend about connection points he ended up buying a premade kit with hard lines. It was pricey but the install only took a few hours for 2 old men with no prior experience. Hard lines made it easy to see where to connect even though the instructions were terrible

Just for giggles and grins, locate the line that comes from the "PB" (power beyond) port of FEL control valve and goes to "P" (power) port of 3PH cylinder.... That is line you will be removing and placing your new lines and control valve inplace of...

Had thoughts of add PB to my GC1715.... But later realized it was not going to be simple and I really did not need power beyond... 8 years later and still no need.... But I also don't know the reason you might want it....

So the parts book shows that up to 3 OEM remotes can be installed on this tractor. Cleanest way to go. Looks like it may be relatively cheaper way to go too. From the parts book:

This kit on Amazon may be the kit for your tractor: Amazon.com

Best to ask the dealer
