I want to add two sets of hydraulics to my front loader. My immediate need is to angle the snow plow I made up for it, but plan to add a log grapple using a hydraulic motor for rotation so I am looking to add two sets.

This is a Kubota L4310 with a Kubota LA681 loader with a "standard" L2085 valve made by HUSCO (I believe it is a 9210 model but need to confirm).

The power beyond port runs back to the hydraulic block to power the 3pt and rear remote hydraulic valves.

My plan is to add a T to the PB port and to the "out" tank port and run those to a 2 spool valve.

Are there any flaws in my plan?

If not, additional questions:

Any suggestions with the specific type of valve to add? I would prefer a single handle, joy stick type valve, but would be OK with a double handle valve if necessary.

Will the new hydraulic valve and lines be "protected" by the pressure relief valve in the existing loader valve?

If so, would adding a valve with it's own pressure relief valve cause a problem?

The valve that will power the claw of the grapple will need to have a check valve to make sure it stays closed, but the motor will need to be able to turn freely when not being powered. Can this be accomplished by omitting the check valve, or would it need to have a float dentent position?

The plow angle will use two single action cylinders; if the new valve has regen will that cause problems with the two single action cylinders working together?

Would a valve with regen cause issues with a two way hydraulic motor?

Any other thoughts greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Tim

You can not tee pressure lines, and regen will cause you trouble.

As JJ said, you can't T the pressure line...the fluid will always take the easiest path and neither will work.

Connect the PB port from the first valve to the pressure port on the second and run the tank port back to the tank (return lines can be T'd). Now run the PB port from the second valve bank to the 3pt hitch.

Not sure why you would need a check valve to keep the grapple closed if it's on an independent control.

And having dual handle vs joystick is irrelevant to the plumbing and valve designs. If you want joystick then use one

You are getting good advice. Maybe diagram it and take a pic and post it before you get too far down the road..

Hi, I just copied this from a post in another thread. Might help a little

Heres the thread

"Did a front remote mod a few years ago for my plow angling and future grapple. Depending on your use unless you have it planned is a cushion valve near the front. If you ever hit something unexpected you know why. I used 3/8" to the front and plumbed a single spool valve in line off my FEL valve. Works great. The video in the below thread is not working right now for some reason. I was debating a simply setup like mine or more sophisticated with electric solenoid for the controls.
