Added Some Remotes

I finally got around to my wish list for remotes. Driven by my desire to mount a cement mixer on the tractor I decided to add 2 spools with quick disconnects on the FEL – see attachment.

I have to tell you, adding remotes to a tractor with no provision for it is challenging. The amount of plumbing & fittings is daunting. I had no clue that hydraulic systems had such an array of fitting/types. Anyways, I was thrilled when all the plumbing was completed and there were no leaks!

I got my spools and motor from Surplus Center and found some good prices on fittings from Discount Hydraulics.

Oh yeah, having the mixer on the front-end sure is nice.

Here's a shot of the mixer - see attachment.

I used the drum from my 6 cu. Ft. Kushlan Mixer. I fabricated a bracket to mount it and the hydraulic motor to the FEL. Yeah, I don’t have a QD for the bucket but it’s only 4 pins to swap it over.

My next projects are a grapple, then a sieve I can swing down over the bucket to sift out rocky dirt.

Good job. Do you have or are you getting something that will require both remotes? or is the second one a just in-case remote?

That's a really clean job. I too am shy about adding remotes but will have to bite the bullit like you did and just get it done.

Of the 2 spools one is a motor type & the other a standard 4-way. Eventually I want to mount a permanent hydraulic winch onto the FEL cross tube. The winch will be mostly connected to motor spool except when using the mixer or some other similar attachment. This leaves the other spool available for operating a grapple or my bucket sieve and I wanted to have the winch online at the same time.

I thought about valves and such off the FEL spool but those kits seamed pretty pricey for what they are. Once you decide to go with an add-on valve an extra spool is pretty cheap overall.
