Since there isn’t a lot of info floating around concerning adding rear remotes to a MT242HC I thought it a good idea to post this project in case others might be interested in doing the same. I’ll be adding a 6-circuit hydraulic multiplier offered by Summit Hydraulics. Starting out I’ll post a picture (soon as I resize it down) of the top link support that was removed from the tractor so that I could make a support for the main valve assembly. The single factory installed rear remote mounting bracket has also been pushed to the side temporarily. The valve block is heavy and I wanted to make something substantial for the mount. Before you ask no I really didn’t need all 6-circuits but, what the hell.

Circuit 1 = top link cylinder
Circuit 2= tilt side cylinder
Circuits 3 - 4 & 5= cylinders necessary to work my landscape rake, or the offset flail mower that is ordered.
Circuit 6= will currently be a spare.

Can’t believe there’s not a simple way to resize pictures before uploading

That big fuel tank in there doesn't help much in terms of space. Looking forward to see what plan you come up with. 6 valves is a big block to handle.

Going with 1/4" lines for the top link and side link may help a little bit too.

Forgot to mention that my LS came to me with a detent in the factory installed single rear remote and because that won’t work well with the overall plan I’ll be modifying it so that it becomes a spring return valve. The kind folks over at Tractor Depot put the necessary spring in the mail to me.

Not sure I’ll be able to reuse the top & tilt cylinders that came off my old New Holland, if not I’ll order up the appropriate cylinders and hoses. The bucket grapple on my New Holland utilized a restriction orfice in the hydraulic lines to slow it down which really worked well, so yeah may need the same for top & tilt cylinders on the LS.

Can never have too many hydraulic remotes!

I'd like to add a few to my tractor. My snowblower, an inverted type, has an optional hydraulic back drag blade. I don't have enough remotes to make the hydraulic chute rotation and deflector work with the back drag. I need another one. Even then I'd still need to use my manual top link, not my hydraulic one. And if I get a hydraulic side link, I'd need yet another remote. Not to mention the FEL snow plow I'm considering.

If I got the back drag blade, the side link, and the FEL snow plow I desire, I would need 7 remotes total!

Probably wont need the snow plow, but the back drag blade is on my list. I'm tired of shoveling snow away from my house and shop before snowblowering it all. To keep my hydraulic top link hooked up, the soon to own side link, the back drag blade, chute rotation and deflection, I need 5 remotes. I have 2.

I'm very interested to see your project. :)

I have Win 11 on my laptop. I save a pic on my desktop (or other folder). Open the pic, right click, and have a menu pop up where I can easily resize the pic.

Here’s a test fit of the bracket that I had fabbed up by another TBN member. Once I’m sure everything fits as it should I’ll remove, prime, & paint before re-installing and moving on to the plumbing and wiring.

After getting the bracket mounted this is how it turned out, very solid on the mount. Notice I mounted a camera under the valve block to help aligning implements. Next time I get out to the barn I’ll get a picture of1 where the switch box was mounted.
