I'm getting ready to build my new house, and I'm going to have a flat garage floor, I'm tired of having sockets roll down and fall thru the grate, not to mention the floorjack getting all crazy when I try to lift the car!
I'm planning a grate just outside the carage doors, I figure if I need to wash down the floor, I can just squeegee out the water.
I've used poly drain before, it's easier than trying to grade and finish a drain in concrete, but it's a bit spendy. My plan has the drains start high in the center and drain to each side, rather than one long drain going to one side, that way I can get decent slope without having to go so deep.
Oh, and no need to get the metal drain grates, I've driven our 3500lb rated forktruck over the plastic grates with no problems.
