Adding a grapple to an EX3200

Hi !

I'm new to TractorByNet, as well as new to tractors. I just got my new EX3200 (from Emerich in NY) and I want to add a grapple to the bucket. Is this a challenge I can hope to accomplish in my garage (if I bring in outside welding talent?)

I've sent an e-mail to Andy Tatro re:grapples, but any other thoughts and comments sure would be appreciated!

Some questions to ask yourself is what you want to achieve with the grapple? Select an attachment that is task specific.
Is your tractor/loader equipped or already plumbed to receive a 3rd hydraulic function? It can be a costly conversion if it is not already equipped.

What loader do you have and what is its lift capacity. Will you be able to lift what you want after you add the extra weight to the bucket?

For Brush Handling - Consider a mechanical (non-hydraulic) grapple like the BrushCrusher that eliminates the bucket entirely and attaches to the loaders arms? You'll increase lift capacity, move the load closer to tractor for stability and be able to see what you are grabbing? Plus you leave the dirt behind and not in the burn pile.

Go to the attachments forum and search my friend. This is one of the most often discussed topics here on TBN.

I personally prefer a separate dedicated grapple like the Markham LD48 over a Tattro or "thumb" style added to the bucket. But your intended use will dictate what you need.
