Adding a Gun Mount

Hey guys,

I'm looking for advice on adding some sort of gun mount to a tractor. I'm not set on which type of firearm (handgun or long gun), but I'm wanting to add something that enables me to have a weapon within easy access without being obstructing. I have some remote sections of my property and wearing a holster isn't always the best option when working on the farm. If you've added some sort of mount or have thought about doing it, I'd love to get any suggestions or pictures you may have. Thanks!

have a cab tractor that i keep a 22 rifle in. put my mounts behind the seat. out of the way and easy to get to.

Put a saddle scabbard on the ROPS and shove in a lever 30-30.

Do you have a canopy or cab roof? If yes then one of those over the visor racks they make for pic up trucks could be mounted up on the right side in reach but out of the way.

For a long gun, an ATV scabbard with cover would work well and keep dust/debris off the weapon.

I carry my KelTec PF9 in front pocket of any pants I have....it goes invisible....and I NEVER have it get in the way of anything I do...and that's a lot of positions and work situations.

It goes with ME...not stuck in a vehicle.

Wow, you must be a good shot, I can't hit a barn with those little 9's although I do own an LC9. I carry my Beretta 92 in a shoulder holster and the fact that it hooks to my belt,, it also helps keep my pants up.

Learning how to hit with a pistol, even a subcompact is a matter of practice.

Step 1, get a reloading press, the proper components, and learn metallic cartridge reloading.
Step 2. Go buy a few boxes of cheap Winchester, Remington or Federal FMJ rounds.
Step 3. After practicing with the commercial stuff, pickup and save the brass for reloading
Step 4. Reload, Practice, reload...rinse and repeat. Plan on shooting 10,000 or more per year.

You will get better. You just have to want it.

I agree with you a hundred percent, and would be happy to discuss this further on a gun forum, but if you have ever held a PF9 or LC9 then you know the barrel is only 1 3/4 inches and not enough to carry the projectile with any accuracy at a distance. They are made for up close concealed situations. Anything running around here in the fields I don't want to get that close to
