Adding a Third Remote to a TN

Finally the tire goes back on and refilled.
I put one bolt in first to allign it and then the others. This was a pain since these big 16x30s are not easy to position even when empty.

Here it is with one bolt in place.

Final post.

Here it is with all the bolts back in place.
Boy is this a good time for an impact.

All done and no leaks.
I have not had a chance to run it hard yet but appears to be a clean install.

Anyone who actually reads this far....
what is the torque spec on the wheel bolts?
These bolts are 1.25" heads and the other tire was more than my torque wrench could measure (100 ft lbs). So I just zapped them on with the impact on a low setting. Probably 150-200 ft lbs.

Hope this is useful to some one. All in all this was a one easy days work if you had all the parts up front.

Fred

It's in your owner's manual...188 ft. lb. for the hub disc lugnuts and 180 ft. lb. for the rim disc locknuts.

Phred, thanks for the step by step process, with pictures! It's interesting to see the different way NH handles the remotes on the TN series versus the Boomers.

I am glad my dealer did all that for me with my last service. All they charged me for was the parts, labor was free /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I like my dealer /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bgott,

Thanks. I knew I had seen that number somewhere in the manual but could not put my hand on it when I needed it.

Mike,

Yes I guess the TN is designed more like a true Ag tractor and the TC is intended for a different market. The TC seems like a less complex setup and perhaps is cheaper to upgrade?

Robert,

Good deal.
There is something about doing it yourself that sometimes ensures its done right. After all mine was missing an internal o-ring from past work done by a pro. When you own it you pay more attention to detail than when you get paid to fix some ones machine....
