The problem is not the durability of the PC, it's what happens when it chips and rust or corrosion sets in to the underlying metal. In my experience paint handles that better by blistering on a smaller scale. PC, perhaps because it is more durable and more of a stronger material, flakes of in larger chunks. For whatever reason, it seems to accelerate the process compared to paint.
