We are thinking of adding a little boom sprayer to a 15 gallon tank to spread herbicide in our pasture. (Death to Buttercups!)

Have found some great DIY directions online -- question is --

Our tank has a 1 gpm rate. Will that be enough to handle a small 2 nozzle boom?

Thanks.

Good question that I can't answer with any direct knowledge, but the boom-equipped sprayers I have seen have at least a 2 gpm flow rate.

Thanks Agrantina.

We are putting the 15 gallon tank on the back of our lawn tractor / mower. Found a great set of directions for adding a boom (or actually converting spot sprayer to "boomless.")

But in the process of looking for the parts (the most time consuming part of the project :p ) -- and some answers -- discovered that the FIMCO page had the answer. They sell an "economy" boom for their 15 gallon (1 GPM pump). They also sell the parts -- so we picked up some of the harder to find parts from them and modified the design based on theirs.

Waiting for parts to arrive, but husband has already mounted the tank and started working on the boom. We will use it on small but thick areas of buttercups and other weeds.

Thanks for the link. I've been looking to convert my 16 gallon spot sprayer to a boom. I have a boomless nozzle, I think that's what it's called, but I think having multiple nozzles will be better. I could be wrong though.
