I'm adding a brake controller to my stepdads 04 f250 ( diesel 6.0 4x4 ) and -may- need guidance. His truck already has the 7 pin connector ont he rear, and his paperwork states the truck was equipped with a 'tow' system.
I've found that the pertinant fuses, relay and maxi fuse for the trailer stop/turn lamps, trailer 'charge' and brakes are already installed.
I can't seem to locate the pigtail to plug a controller into.. I remember it was easy to find on my dodge and yukon. i hope when i have the controller in hand.. the plug on it will look familiar to something under his dash.. I can only find one open plug.. the size of my thumb.
ordinarily if he had more time.. I'd send him to the place just outside town where i bought my trailer(s). they slap in controllers in about 5 minutes if you already got the 6pin or 7 pin plug wireing.. etc.
No time to get him down there today as he's leaving this afternoon and needs brakes..e tc..
I'm headed to TSc to grab him a controller now...
