Adding front loader to International 1066

Here is another possible option.

Install the loader valve that came with the loader.

Use one of the remote spools to feed the loader valve with the lever locked on.

So the normal path would be something like this. Pump to remote, and remote to 3pt.

Exception would be when you use the loader. Now the flow is pump to remote , remote spool to loader valve, back to remote, then 3pt.

The loader will not tie up the remote, as the loader will have all the flow with the lever locked on, until you use another spool on the remote, and then yu share the pump flow between the loader and another spool..

If the loader and or remote is using all the pump flow, then the 3pt will have none for that time that the valve levers are engaged.

Good thinking at least this does not tie all the remotes up

We have a 1086 here and there is no way that I would consider putting a loader on it. The square cut gears make shifting a total pain and I can't see doing a lot of forward reverse manuvering being anything but a frustrating episode. That said, for pulling and pto work like running a harvester we really like it. We've replaced the brake shoes, which took an hour, we replaced the pto clutch pack which took a day but only because we didn't have the parts before we tore it down. I do like the tractor but I can't imagine trying to shuttle it back and forward loading something.

You are correct with the shuttle ability with tractors built at that time! The closest thing to a shuttle was the utility tractors built by IH like the 574,674 models that had low range and reverse range in a straight line so what ever speed you went in forward you had in reverse with a choice of four speeds. Nothing hydraulic for a forward reverse operation at all with out going to industrial tractors.
