I'm kind of new here and don't know if there's been a thread about this. I have an old 12ft disc harrow on my place but it lacks a hydraulic cylinder. It looks like it has a hand crank. Has anyone ever added a hydraulic cylinder to a disc like this? If so what size cylinder?

Sounds as if your disk harrow has a ratchet jack. Can you post a photo of your disk harrow? Most hyd cylinders for farm equipment are 3X8. If disc is very heavy or towing tractor has low hyd pressure then a 4X8 cylinder may be required.

No its really old. Probably needs new bearing and all kinds of things. I will grab some photos this weekend. I am not sure if its worth restoring or just scraping and throwing that money towards a new one.

I agree you did a nice restoration. I'll bet your Kubota tractor knows that Athens offset is behind it when you raise the tires up!!

Thanks. Yes, it's all my tractor wants to pull. If it's really wet, it's hopeless. its a beast of a harrow but it really works great.
