I have this truck crane that I built a few years back, it works ok but I would like to get a 12 v dc powerpack to lift and extend the crane.
Here is the crane

I would like to pick up one of these: Surplus Center - 12 VDC 1.3 GPM 2500 PSI SPX SA POWER PACK
If I get the power pack (doesn't have to be the one I linked to but similar), can I use a selector valve and two control valves while switching between circuits electronically? IE the diverter valve would be electronically activated. My concern with using electronic valves is I won't have smooth control of cylinders, I don't want an all or nothing scenario. I want to lift the boom and lower with precision and extend/retract the boom without anything traumatic going on.
Any help greatly appreciated as always.

I have a rd bale spike bed with an electric over hyd system similar to the one you mentioned. I can start/stop my bale spear fairly precisely but not exactly.
