Adding LED's for night work

Looking to add LED lights to the roof of my Workmaster to help with night work, especially the front. The headlights beam onto the loader/grapple shading out around and make it hard to see what your doing. My plans is a 32" Flood/Spot led bar in the front & 2 18w work lights shining off the rear fender or roof, undecided. What I would like to do is tie the front roof mounted bar into the bright light factory toggle & I'll put the rear on it's own Toggle. Not much of an electrician, so my question is can I just splice the LED into my bright light switch?

I disconnected my tractor's halogen headlights that were drawing 55 watts each and hooked up two 27 watt floods facing forward and one 27 watt flood facing backward. The forward floods come on with low beams, and when you go to high beams the rear comes on as well. I still have capacity for another LED flood and the 4 floods will be drawing the same load as the 2 original headlights.

As long as you are drawing a similar load through the switch you will be fine. If you draw significantly more current, you may shorten the life of the switch.

Do you have any existing lights on the roof of your cab? If yes, use that circuit. If no, there may be a spare power plug under the seat for a work light. I used 2 48W LEDs from Amazon that cost less than $25 for the pair!

No cab on mine, just a roof added to the ROPS. Waiting to get the tractor back next week so I can't look under my seat at the moment, but I appreciate the advice on that.

My plug looks like this. I used that for the power to a switch I mounted on the ROPS and from there to the lights. I put an inline fuse in between the plug and the switch.

airbiscuit has it right. If you don't have a factory set of 'work lights' installed, there should be a set of capped, unused 12V wires, at the back of your tractor, that are already wired to your existing light(s) switch. The plug should be as he's shown in post #6 or similar.

I was thinking of adding a 22" curved 120w led bar to the front and maybe a single 36w or 48w led flood light to the rear. Anyone see a problem with this as too much electrical pull?
