adding lights

i already have the kubota work light facing to the back on my B2620. after working in the dark the other night. the buckit blocks most of the light up front. so went and got 2 lights to light up the front better.
1.where is the best to tie into for power?
2.put them on a switch and tie into the work light?
3.can i tie into the tail lghts so they come on when i turn the headlights on?

i am mounting them in that bolt that is at the hinge on the roll bar

Most of the guys are connecting to the aux power wires under the right rear fender. This circuit turns on/off with the ignition key. This may be where your existing work light is wired to already. I know many guys have connected more than one light to this circuit so if your work light is already hooked up to it you should still be able to hook another light up to it. Most guys have added a switch to turn on/off their extra lights. Plus they don't have to run all of their other lights at the same time. The generators are not really strong on these tractors. If you want to connect it to the tail lights you will want to check the fuse rating and wire size for the tail light circuit and see if it would handle another light on it and that would probably work as well.

wll my first try failed, i got some 12v 55watt tractor lights from the tractor supplie store. i geuss they are to much. i blew the work light fuse with just one hooked up. no biggie they only cost me $14 and i can use them on something else.

is the B2620 12volt or 6volts systems? my book don't say.

sorry guys just new to the tractor thing. i can make a old powerstroke run but can't get lights to work on a orange tractor somtimes the easy things are the hardest

You'll want to keep those lights.. 55 watt is perfect. not sure why it blew the fuse.. should be a 15 amp fuse and a 55 watt is what most guys install (bota may install 35 watt but the wiring can handle 55 watts, only 5 amps per bulb).

I second earlier opinions , that you'll want switches so they are not on when not needed.. If you plan on alot of light and using them continuously, ie alot of night work, you'll want to upgrade to the 40 amp alternator..($250 or so, but thats another story)

You can either run a direct switched feed from the battery or install a switched relay ($5 at most auto supplies, w/ instruction) (as an example, this is what most Hella driving light packages use to turn on the lights when your corner light go on/off) .

The relay will feed the higher amps to the relay , then to the 55 w lights, and will be turned on from the lower amp work light circuit or switch.... ( i have 2 55 watt lights on a relay with a switch installed) I want to add 2 more rear lights and there fore will upgrade to the alternator...

I learned from other guys here that the factory wiring on my B3030HSD were for 35watt lights and that is what the factory lights were on the front. When I did my rear lights I used 35watters and had no problem. Tractor Supply stocks them.

my work light is 35watt, i lost the 55watt lights anyway, the wife said i left them lay around to long and wants them on her truck now. so back to the store for me anyway.

How did you connect the lights? Which wires to which. Some lights are grounded thru the hinge and bolt. If you get the wires mixed up you may have accidentaly connected your +12v straight to ground and taken out the fuse. I don't remember off the top of my head what wire color is the +12vdc and which is the ground the the work light connects to. I know there are posts on here as to which color is which. Hang on a second......I looked up an older post and I am pretty sure the red and blue wire is the +12 and the black wire is the ground. I have actually ran 4 55watt lights off the work light circuit without blowing the fuse. I don't reccommend doing this, but it did work.

By the way I don't reccommend the magnet mount I used they fell off if I hit rough terrain. I ended up using U bolts with gas line around them to protect the paint.

i unpluged the work light and pluged into that wire with both wires.
i am mounting them to that nut that is weilded to the roll bar at the hinge.the seatbelt bolts are the same as that nut and i fixed a radle at the sametime. i will try again and ground it the brackit.don't get to work on yesturday the chainsaw got mad and wanted tor apart but its back on my to do list today. i will post pics when i get done and remeber how to do webshot
