I have a mahindra max28xl and want to add rear remotes for the purpose of a log splitter and a future build of a small post pounder project, i am new to the hydraulics aspect but i am mechanically inclined and want to learn about it. i have attahced picture of my FEL valve and the manifold valve on the tractor also i have contacted NIMCO-controls to get a diagram of my FEL valve. my question is can i just T into the power beyond from my FEL valve to my manifold on the frame of the tractor and run it back to the tractor with some quick disconnects and another line with disconnect to the tank line for my return from the back of the tractor? does any one have pics or comments from a project done to a max28? also if anyone knows what lines are power beyond and tank line would be great while i wait on feedback from NIMCO-controls.

i have uploaded the diagram from nimco for help, could i add a line to the plug that is label item 9 to the back of the tractor for the pressure side then T into the tank line for my other hose?

Thanks

You have an open center hydraulic system. In the simplest of terms it means hydraulic flow is going past each control valve and if not needed goes on to the next until it ends up back in the reservoir.

If you introduce a Tee into the circuit, then the oil will have an alternative path (which means low pressure path) to the reservoir so it will not work.

With hydraulics there is often NO "Lets just try it and see," option as very expensive parts are destroyed in a fraction of a second.

You already have a working 3 pt hitch and your experiments could cut off supply to it.

Although not cheap, having some knowledgeable person do the work for you is the best route as long as you use it as a learning opportunity.

For example, having your dealer make a service call to do the work. You offer the tech $20 at the start to teach you what he/she is doing.

While I agree (in part) with Dave's response, I don't necessarily agree that you need to pay full retail for something you may be able to do yourself. I DO suggest you pay for an initial service call to have someone knowledgeable examine your tractor and current hydraulic situation. Explain your "wish list" and then discuss some options and prices. Whether you choose to do some, most, or all of the work yourself is your decision, but knowing WHAT to do is half the battle. Posting a few photos and asking questions on a site such as this probably won't get you all the right answers without a great deal of back and forth. Spending fifteen minutes with someone who's "been there - done that" will most likely allow you to make a better informed decision.
