Adding Remotes L3130

I want to add remotes to my L3130 and have a couple questions.By the way, I'm almost over the sticker shock of the parts kits from Kubota, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif "WOW" Any how, what is the difference in the L8303 single spool spring to center valve and the L8304 single spool float detent valve. Does anyone have any suggestions or information that may help me. Thanks, Oh yea, I've decided if I ever buy another tractor, 30 to 45 hp will have at least one set remotes, 45 to 60 hp two sets and over that as many as my $$ will allow. They should be a standard item on new machines.

The one with the float detent has one more position for float and it stays in that position until you manually move it out. Just like the spool for a FEL for the loader arms. It is spring centered but also has the float detent position. That's what dentent means, will not return to the previous position.

The prior post is correct about the valve. We sell many tractors in those size ranges without additional valves. Not many customers like to buy things they don't need. We do our best at getting them mounted for the customers needs at the time of sale.

I can't think of to many times you would want to use a remote valve with a float position

maybe they don't need to be put on all tractors
but they don't need to be that expensive to add later either.

You could use float with a boxscraper that had a hydraulicly positioned ripper. Just push it to float to release the rippers. On tractors that have a 3-point with downpressure it would be used with a Top'n Tilt setup. The float valve being used with the top link cylinder. I agree the price for these valves is a ripoff. It would be nice if they could use a more common stackable valve rather than a purely proprietary valve. Although the biggest problem is getting it to fit nicely on the tractor, which sometimes then requires special valves(i.e. most costly).

I have never found an oppourtunity to need float on any of my three valves. I'm sure someone could. Here's my valve layout. The TnT cylinders are Gannon, all 3 remotes have quick couplers (six total) It's on a L3830. Total cost was about $1300. I like my valve control setup, its very solid. Rat

Any time you run a batwing type mower (finish or field) you need to use a float valve for the wing decks.

I have some bats in my cattle barn and in the equipment shed. There are probably 10 bats with 2 wings each. So I guess we have 20 batwings. They have never done any harm; in fact they eat the pesky bug. So why would I want to run their little batwings? Sometimes my wife runs with them when they get to close to her. Does that count? Exercise is good for her. Sometimes my wife will use a float but only in the pool, not running with the bats.
