Are you happy with the weight or do you need more?

If you need more weight, build 2 more the same way and set them standing up. This will decrease crack possibilities, which are minimal anyway with the four bars.

I spoke with you when you planned the project. I misunderstood a little since I thought you were going to cast twice as thick as they are. (square cross section as opposed to rectangle) That's why I suggested the four bars.

Hey thats an interesting setup. i also would like to know how well they hold up to rough discing.
I used railroad irons and cut holes in it and the disc and bolted it on.
I think you will be impressed on how well the extra weight makes them perform.

Good job, but I'd park your disc indoors...

Those straps are made out of a material that is more than likely sensitive to UV rays of the sun to some degree... over time they will deteriorate... your acreage may vary.

Now all you need is a drag log...

The TC40DA handles the discs like they're paperweights. The only thing I notice is that I have to use 4WD in soft earth, and can't run in second gear. The weight is noticeable but not a problem. I do plow with a two bottom plow (I assume you meant dirt, not snow plowing?). Now, do I KNOW how to plow is an entirely different subject.

On another subject Mike, I'm indebted to you for your toolbox design. I built one using your plans and it's AWESOME. What a space and time saver!

I'm happy with the weight. The reason I went with the shape I did was to spread the load evenly, make securing the blocks easier, and most of all, to allow me to continue to easily adjust the discs . Thanks for your help.

I'm digging up one of my old posts. Sorry. But in response to the last post the discs cost $1,000. They were "new" but weathered from sitting in the New Holland dealers for a year outdoors. Great investment. Heavy and very, very tough.
