Addition question

Just adding room addition and keeping existing roofline. I'm still trying to figure out how to connect bottom treated girt to the existing structure. Running into a brain freeze issue right now

just cut back the existing corner girt half way and then attach the new one. will need to work on the siding a bit at those points by loosening it up, attach new board and reattach.
the Skirt boards should be T&G and tied in same way, may need a metal blade on a saws-all match up to the existing building, 2x6 or 2x8 with best ground contact treatment.
