what's the radiator replacement cost? what's the cost if repair goes south in the July sun, or single digit temps? aftermarket options?
old school solder on brass is one thing, but i'd be hesitant on plastics esp given the heat & pressure, imho

Radiator is about $650, might be able to track one down for $550, plus shipping, if you really spend the time scouring the internet.

So, that is one of the big issues, repairing plastic. There are like 100 types, and many many products don't go into detail. What might work fantastic on ABS, like acetone fusion, doesn't work on others. PE isn't the same as PVC, or Nylon, ect, and then there are types of each... add to that, the radiator manufacturers don't list a lot of detail on the specific plastic they use...

i wonder if radiator repair shops (if they're any left) specialize in plastic repairs you detail? my guess is not so much. they don't want the liability.
how will you determine what type of plastic it is? inquire from K?

it's a long day since i had my old Massey hd radiator rodded out or hot tanked, those days are essentially over.
having said that, the plastic replacement radiators i've replaced in my older vehicles have done remarkably well, & not too costly to replace, regards

Is it possible to install a new fitting by pipe thread tapping hole, and then using silicone glue/adhesive on threads to seal and secure into plastic radiator tank as a last resort.

The replacement cost is 600+. compare that to the time, effort, expense of that repair method, & with no guarantee it will not fail in the future. but it's an idea

Take yours to a radiator shop and let them fix it. They have much more experience

I haven't read all the advice, but I am betting a good radiator repair shop will be able to replace that bottom tank after looking at the photos. I have seen it done on similar aircraft rads. They have a tool to straighten the ally clamps very carefully, pop in a new tank with sealer applied, and re-clamp the ally. Ask around for local rad repairs and get their opinion before doing anything else. End of the day the result would be better that "glueing" but price may be the decider.

good luck

The only way to repair thermoplastic is "welding".l repaired a similar accidental injury on my Ford F350 radiator using my Weller soldering gun and a flat "rope cutting tip".I was able to do it without any filler material, but did need to clean the bore after welding. Do an online search:there are many inexpensive setups for this, as well as plenty of how-to videos.
