Here's the scoop: The links ARE available (But not everybody at Deere knows it, so you have to be PERSISTENT!!), for the 4200/4300/4400 (part # LVB25072 IF ordering installed-on-new-tractor,...part # BM25072 IF ordering separately to put on later), ---and for the 4500/4600/4700 (part # LVB25073 IF ordering installed-on-new-tractor,...part # BM25073 IF ordering separately to put on later).

Thanks are due to my dealer, who wouldn't take "no" for an answer.
He called JD, and was told there was no such thing,... that it was a mistake in the catalog. He said "go check further" ...then the answer became "Yes, they would be available after Feb. 28th as a factory option on NEW tractors".

My dealer then said, " Well, if they're going to put them on tractors, then you must HAVE some, right?...go check, AGAIN!". New answer,.."Yes, we DO have them...do you want to order them now?".

Bottom-line: The new adjustable links for my 4700 are ordered (3 or 4 days ago), and should be here soon. Price...$234.

Same approach should work (maybe a little easier next time /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif ) for the next guy!

I also bought mine already included with the tractor as a "one" price for all... I later looked up the pricing as a JD option they would be $270.

I now have on order "dual-cat. hole lift balls" for catI & catII. All my implements are catI and I want to get away from the sleeves. These new balls are suppose to fit @ $9. each.

On my MF165, I had the dual-cat-balls and they were the nuts. With the telescopic links and dual-balls, very easy and fast hookups!

I'm not entirely delighted to be "buying" 2-pair, especially since I have not yet "accepted delivery" of the tractor...it's still being outfitted at the dealership. I may talk to them a little about this...not too sure what would be "right". Nobody knew the new links would become available, when my tractor came in, so someone (me or the dealer) will be "stuck" with the new "old" ones. They'll probably not be in great demand now that the adjustables are out, so the dealer probably won't need them "hanging around" either.
Anybody have thoughts on what would be "fair" here? (or serious suggestions as to how the non-adjusts might be put to "other" good-use?)

I bet two dollars to donuts, you won't see the new "old" ones when you take delivery then. That $200. price is probably the option price you'll end up paying now. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Well, if I pay for 'em, you can bet they'll be in my shop when all is done. But I don't want to give the impression that my dealer has been anything BUT cooperative... I couldn't ask for more helpful attitudes all-around, sales AND service, while I've been building my somewhat "unique" dream-machine. I'll post a full report when it's done, for anyone who finds it interesting.

I priced a set for a 4300 yesterday @ $208. I ordered them but plan on looking at them before buying them. I suspect they will be all right, I just don't like buying anything without seeing it.

If any one gets a chance, I'd like to see a pic! I have a quick hitch but when hooking up the plow and cement mixer (with out QH) that would be nice.
