Adjust mower deck to plow gopher holes

I have lots of gopher hole mounds and have the deck (jd la145) adjusted about 1 " lower at the front of the deck thinking I'll save blades from too much dirt cutting. Anyone else do that? Any suggestions for me?

I'm not sure that's going to help, the blades are still going to hit the dirt... you might be able to rig up a weighted 2x4 in front of the axle to drag and help out but you would need to get below where your blades are... myself when I was fighting gophers more I took two identical pallets upside down and tied them together with a chain with slip hooks on the ends and looped the chain at the front boards in the middle and drug that behind the mower, worked really good, easier to drag than my chain harrow...
