I need to clean up some roads (and I use that term loosely) on my property; I want to put some crown on them and maybe cut some light ditches on the sides and install water bars. I have an 8' box blade that weighs about 850# - other than going to a TnT, what is the easiest way to adjust side-link length to tilt something this heavy? Is there some trick to doing this that I'm missing?

I use a block of wood under one side of the implement to get slack in the turnbuckle. It will then move a turn or two. Then do it again. I can reach the lever and the turnbuckle at the same time so it is easy to tell when I have slack.

I also use a block of wood but in the middle. Raise and lower the 3ph so the weight is off the attachment (slack in the turnbuckle).

Well that makes sense! I've been doing a block under one side like bcp, but unlike him I've never gotten two full turns before I had to adjust the list arms- more like 3/4 turn. Thanks!

I tried the center position once, but can't remember why I started using a side block. maybe sloping ground. Maybe old age. I probably ought to try it again sometime.
