I have purchases an ATLAS 20x18 disc. It is the 300
EZ-JUS model. The gangs can be adjusted inward and
outward. My question is how do I know when the gangs
are adjusted right? Is there a formula for this?

I just purchased the same and have the same problem. Also can't seem to find any info on the company to see if they have a operating manuel.

No formula. I would make the front gangs almost touch in the middle to keep from leaving a wide streak of un-worked soil. The back is more or less personal preference. 12-18 inches in the back center opening can't bee too far off. Ken Sweet

Ken said it ... I like my front gang to be set so the disc almost touch ... makes the front cut good. I like to set the back gands almost straight across to level the soil.

Really, it comes down to how fine you want to disc up an area. Most people simply run their disc harrows with the angle set to the max, or at least pretty close to the maximum angle. Experiment, you'll learn by doing and remember it better that way! About the only time I use "no angle" (front and rear gangs parallel to each other) is after I have already disc'ed up an area and want to try and slice up bigger clods into smaller ones.

Ken - I am looking at a 5 year old Atlas EZ JUs 300 disc and single gang plow. Seller is asking $650 for both. any idea if that's a good price?

I live outside Nashville but have relatives all over Muhlenburg County.

That is a great price as long as the 1 bottom plow is one of the older name brand plows. Ken Sweet
