Earlier this year I bought a Kubota M6800 for use on my farm. I will be using it to plow and disc the fields. I plan to grow pumpkins and potatoes this year, as well as a small market garden. I eventually will use it to put up hay too. My wife is a bit intimidated by it. Understandably. It is pretty big.
So far I've only used it for clean-up around the place and plowing some snow. I got it kindof late for most of the snow removal.
I used the M6800 the other day to remove a cherry tree that had a blight and made a couple of ruts in the yard. No big deal, since the yard isn't much to look at right now anyway, but got her to thinking.
Well, I casually mentioned to the wifey that despite really liking my tractor for it's intended purposes, that it is a little big for work around the yard. I told her that eventually I might end up needing a smaller tractor too. She responded with the comment that maybe in a couple of years we should get one of those little ones with the backhoe (BX23) that I had pointed out when we stopped at the dealer for some UDT. She asked if the backhoe and loader come off, that way she can mow the yard with it too. I said 'yup'. I like the way she is thinking. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif This could work out to the best of both worlds for me, a big rig for the heavy work and a little one for work around the yard. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
