I grew up here on a farm working outside year round. We never had city water or septic, but 200" + of snow each year was guaranteed. For those who have never shoveled off a roof, it's pretty physical. We're getting older, and breaking something serious is a real possibility.
There wasn't much crime here until recently. The county started importing public assistance familys to get the state perks, and wound up finding out why some of those people stayed on the dole. Our last trip to Wal-mart made me concerned for our safety. If I have to avoid a small city because of crime, it's time to go.
