Chris, all of the prior comments, you mention, are mine.
A deal is "what two or more parties agree to", If he can get his price, more power to him.
I was orginally looking for a used F-350, however at the time, the city boys were all upside down and owed WAY more than used value.
So I targeted the Tundra.
I am still very happy with it.
I have not had any issues using it as it has been advertised.
I pull around my tractor, which will max out my 7k trailer.
I do use a weight distribution hitch to shift some weight to the front axle.

I know there have been comments about the frame, to date, I can find no issues.

I use my stuff, I will not abuse it...

Great thread, thx for dusting it off. I have been looking for replacement candidates. I would love to hear how the OP made out.

My 99 CTD RAM is loosing the battle with Vermont rust. Last night I took the sawsall to the rear bumper before it fell off into some one's windshield. The first round of body patches are starting to show rust. It has been a great powerful and fuel thrifty rig but besides the body, the front end is due for another rebuild.

With diesel being under a buck when I bought the mighty RAM, it made sense back then. Now I can't justify it since I never used the RAM for anything but a super strong daily driver.

I did quite a bit of bad weather long distance commuting back when I bought the RAM. A bed cap and 500 lbs in the bed over the axle made the beast ride really well.

The good news is that the Linex bed is still perfect. Too bad I did not spray the entire truck......

Sorry, it's been a while since I posted. I've had a 2010 Tundra for 6-7 months now. I can't find any fault with the Tundra. I took it on a 2k mile trip to Florida in February and It was a dream to drive. I averaged 18.5mpg with 4.5k miles on the truck so I hope the MPG will improve with a few more miles. I'm getting 15.8-16.2 mpg around the house.

I still miss the Cummins diesel sound and the way people would move out of the way of the Dodge 2500. People treated the Dodge like a great white shark, but they don't seem to concerned about the Tundra.

As I said, I took the Tundra on a boar hunt in Florida in February and I was following a friend and his crew in his 2007 F-150 5.4. I got a little more MPG than his truck. The real difference came when we went to pass an orange gove truck in Florida. I had never floored the Tundra until then. It was quiet funny because I took one of the local archery club members in my truck with my friend and I. Bob is 82 years old and he was asleep when I romped on it. Bob awoke from a dead sleep and asked if we had lifted off. The F 150 didn't keep up and later everyone was looking at the Tundra wondering what was under the hood. I'll have to admit that I never expected the Tundra to have seat of the pants acceleration like it does.

I love the engine and 6 speed tranny in the Tundra and so far my biggest complaint is that the cupholders seem like they are two blocks away from the driver's seat. I do miss having a diesel just for being able to say that I have one, but I just can't justify it when the Tundra does everything that I need.

I guess I should explain the rest of the deal. I kept the 2008 Tundra for all of 3 weeks. I sold it outright and made a few dollars. I took the Dodge to the Toyota dealer (Haley) where my wife purchased her 2010 Sequioa. I got more in trade for the Dodge than i paid for it and I purchased a 2010 Dbl Cab 5.7 4x4 with the TRD package that was a demo. It was almost an even trade for a new vehicle and this included an extended warranty and step rails.

The guys at hunting camp poked fun at me throughout deer season because I had three different trucks before the season ended. My coworkers also say that I change trucks like people change underwear.

I also posted a thread under Safety about a close call I had the first time I towed my TC 40 with the Tundra. The plug came out and I didn't have any trailer brakes going down Catawba Mountain.
