Box Scraper Advice on Craigslist used 3pt Box Scraper - any good?

Some pins look that way because they are larger at one end to keep them from passing right on through. My 48" JD tiller (made by Sicma in Italy) is set up that way. the Pins only go in one way because there's a large end and corresponding hole that it fits in. That is a are clevis pin setup on that BB vs std Cat one pins bolted on. the clevis setup makes mounting a heavy implement easier, and are stronger when putting high torque loads on the implement.

That looks to be an older Gannon box blade in those pics. They offered roll over/retractible scarifiers as an option on certain models.

I think you are right - looks similar to my Gannon with some differences but the latch looks the same?..?. If the OPs 3 point will lift it , it is hard to go wrong with a Gannon JMO

I bought this old gannon 72" for $150. First page shows what it looked like when I got it. Page 6 shows the refurb. after a few hundred dollars for a new blade, some welding, paint, and a winch. The woods dealer could not get parts for the original torsion spring. So, I simplified: winch to raise scarifiers; chain to hold them down when in use. My CK25 pulls it effectively as long as teeth don't catch on something. it is one heck of a digger, for sure.

I think your blade is worth about $350 (at least to me).

I bought this older 72" Gannon with hydraulic scarifiers. It's a Cat 1.

Spent a little bit on new hoses and connections, and had the cylinder rebuilt. I've got about $1,350 in it altogether. Not a bargain by you guys' standards, but it works great and I'm still in it for way less than 1/2 of the cost of a new one (maybe closer to 1/3).

It weighs about 1,100 pounds. Makes a great ballast for the FEL and grapple.

What a nice blade Pappy, well worth the money! If you want to recover your " loss" let me know. I am adding rear ports this year and it would be a great addition.

Great find Pappy. I bought my old LP for $1K then probably added a couple hundred in modifications and updates. They are a very effective piece of equipment and as you said, make great ballast. Don't stick out the back too far and are strong enough to use to push things outta the way. :)
