I just got a new Kubota B3200 this week. My friend doesn't heat with wood anymore and is giving me a 3 point log splitter. Says it worked great but hasn't been used for about 5 years. I am worried about getting dirt in my new tractor's hydraulic system.

Should I worry about this?

Is there a way I can clean the splitter out before hooking it up?

I have read that I can hook it up to my FEL ports and use a bungee on the lever. Can anyone tell me what color ports to hook into?

Any suggestions on hose length?

Thanks very much for the help.

There will be 2 hoses going to the control on the splitter, one is the inlet, the other is the outlet.

I would take the quick disconnect off of the outlet hose and feed that into a bucket, then connect the inlet to one of your loader lines and flush the system out (adding more hydraulic fluid as needed)

I will look at our B and BX tomorrow and see which ports go together.
